Several of you know that Will was having a scan on Tuesday. Yesterday we went to get the results. The last rounds of chemo did shrink all of the tumors and take away the fluid around the tumor in his right lung. This is the first time since before last May (or maybe before that) that the spot in his lung has responded to any treatment. Yeah! Will has had a persistent cough lately so we were worried that this chemo was not working on the spot either. Turns out that the cough should be better from the chemo, and that the cough must be from something else. The doctor thinks that radiation may have affected Will’s esophagus. He wants Will to have a scope to see. If that is the case, they can fix the problem at the same time. He wants to have this scope done before they do any other treatment. He gave Will the option of taking some time off before doing any more chemo or carrying on after the scope. Will is going to meet with the doctor again in two weeks to discuss what the next plan of action will be. This is the best news we have had in quite a while. It is not a miracle by any means since the shrinkage was just by 15-20%, but it is still good news. We know that the tumor in the lung is not resistant to this chemo. Will is going to take the next two weeks to try and improve his health, and then we will go from there. Thank you to everyone for thinking and praying for us. We feel the them and they are working.
